Mail Services is asking for student collaboration. The list of items not allowed in residence halls has been widely circulated through the online new student orientation modules, the info packets sent out by Mail Services, and via messaging from Housing and Residence Life. However, Mail Services is still pulling multiple items from the delivery system that are prohibited in residence halls. Please help us reduce the operational strain this process causes.
If prohibited items are shipped to Tulane, student packages containing prohibited items will be returned to sender. This is in effect year-round.
We humbly ask for your collaboration in our effort to reduce the pressure of this pain point that is impacting not only our operations and campus staff, but also students.
We will not accept, and instead return to sender, any items that exceed 50 pounds. Items fitting the following criteria will also be refused on delivery and returned to the sender, year-round.
- Personal refrigerators
- Electric scooters and bikes
- Personal air conditioners
- Flammable liquids
- Air fryers
- Electric grills (panini press or a George Foreman grill)
- Space heaters
